Speaking Up for people with Mental Health issues
Speaking Up believes that everyone has the right to a voice. Our advocacy supports people with mental health problems to speak up and take action during times in their life when they may not feel able to speak up for themselves.
Our mental health advocacy services cover various parts of the UK, often in secure or hospital settings.

"With the advocacy service in place we could involve (Speaking Up) to represent us especially at times when we are not well. I feel the Speaking Up advocacy service is doing things their own way, which is proving refreshing and effective.”

We also manages a mental health helpline for people in Barnsley, called BLINK. All the helpline staff have personal experience of mental health problems and offer a confidential, non-judgemental signposting service.
