Training
Speaking Up have been successfully delivering training since 1998. Most of our training is delivered by a team of people with learning difficulties and led by John Woodhouse, our Training Co-ordinator.
Training is generally available for groups of up to 15 people and we can travel to your offices or a venue of your choice.
Training courses we currently offer:
For staff / professionals
- Disability Awareness (half day or full day)
- Inspiring Experiences (full day)
- How to make information more accessible (half day)
- IMCA training (delivered by IMCA Service Manager)
- Advocacy training (delivered by experienced Advocates)
For health and social care staff and students
- Disability Awareness (half day or full day - tailored to particular profession)
For self-advocates / people with learning difficulties
- Trustee training
- How to take part in meetings
- The Disability Equality Duty
- The Mental Capacity Act
